So kiddo and I went out yesterday and did a little shopping and took care of some errands. When we got home, there was a message on the answering machine from my Dad. I couldn’t figure out why since I’d just talked to him early in the morning. So, I call them right away to see what’s up.
Low and behold, they inform me that they’ve decided to come see us THIS weekend!! My mom has declared this a little mini-vacation. She’s determined that she’s not going anyplace or do anything the whole time that she’s here. YAY!! I’m so happy and excited. I love my parents so much and I love it when they do little things like this. It’s a different schedule than usual though because Mom has to be back to work on Monday instead of them leaving as usual on Monday. But, they’re also arriving a day earlier than usual!
I’m so looking forward to some special family time. To top it all off, we’re supposed to have a cool down and possibly get a little much needed rain. It should make for a wonderful weekend and for some enjoyable time together. Now, it’s time to plan my menu!!
What do you have going on?? Any surprises in your life??
I want to wish all my family, friends, and readers a very….
So proud to be an American where I can think what I want, despite the disagreement of the others.
Home of the free because of the brave!!
God Bless the USA!!
I know that I haven’t been around much, so I thought that I’d update!!
First of all, the weight loss got a little hard. I puked for those 3 weeks and lost a lot of weight. The doc saw me and fixed it by taking some fluid out. Then, my weight went in the opposite direction. I didn’t put much back on, but enough to frustrate me and got me wondering what I was doing wrong. I was so frustrated. Well, this week, I finally lost weight again. I’m feeling more confident again and ready to keep going!!
This past week, kiddo was at my parents house. I utilized that time to get some much needed work done around the house. I got my closet cleaned out and that was a true chore!! I also come some printable games created for a member of my group and I did those VBS ones as well. I just did a lot of little stuff that needed to get done. I’m sure you all know what that’s like!!
The week prior, we had sort of a mini-vacation. We went to my parents house. We had a great time and did something different with them each of the days that we were there. I can’t say it enough….we had such a good time!! I got home all relaxed and ready for summer. I got so many bird photos while I was there and I got in quite a bit of practice with my new lens. I really am having a blast with that new lens!!
In the future weeks for World Bird Wednesday, I’ll be sharing some of the photos that I got while I was there. I have enough to last for quite some time!! I also got some flowers and some bugs to share on Macro Monday. Let’s just say that my next few weeks of photo memes will be well covered!!
That really is about all that I have to tell you about. Miss K is in classes at the vo-tech for 2 weeks now. She looks forward to them so much. It really is too bad that this is the last year that she’s allowed to go. Also, she’s done with homeschool this year, but she’ll be spending the summer doing Algebra I. YAY!! It really isn’t going to be bad now that it’s all we have to focus on. I think she’ll be just fine!!
Oh and some good news…..there was no lay-offs this week at Lean Green’s job. That’s much of a relief to us and some that he works with. It’s been stressful in many ways just not knowing. It doesn’t mean that more won’t come, but at least for now, it’s all good!!
Hey, how about the OKC Thunder!?!? Pretty awesome. Western Conference Champions!! We’re so excited and we have home court advantage going into the play-offs. Totally awesome team and I’m not even that big of a basketball fan, but I love the home state boys. So proud of them. Hear that THUNDER roll!!
Alright, I’m outtie!! Let me know what you all have been up to and what your summer plans are.
Please click here to vote for my blog….thanks!!
Yes, I’m home from my vacation. Did you miss me?? HAHA
Kiddo and I had a great time. We are all relaxed, refreshed and ready to go again. I even managed to get half a school year of lesson plans done. I’m complete through December, only needing a couple minor details to finish off lessons. Must of that is decided at the last minute anyway.
I bought a new workbook for my CCD class. It’s called The Un-Halloween Book and I’m so excited about it. I also ordered The Un-Bunny Book and The Un-Santa Book. I just loved the ideas in these books. They definitely bring Christian lessons back to these holidays. Best of all, they can be used all year long or even for VBS.
Not much else to tell you at the moment. I never finished my 4th of July activities and printables. I’m just going to save them for next year. I got busy with other creations. I’ll be adding some to my 4Shared account during the week and I’ll let everyone know when they’re uploaded.
Howdy to all my loyal readers!! I know you’re out there someplace. HAHA Oh wait, it’s me that’s been missing the past couple days.
First, I have to say that I didn’t get any more patriotic games or anything else made for that topic. I apologize if you were looking forward to it, but I got sidetracked. I, however, did create several games. They won’t be uploaded for a few days though.
That leads me to my next topic. I’ve been busy the past couple days and haven’t had time to write. I’ll be gone more this week. In fact, I don’t even know if I’ll get a post in during the week. We’re spending some time together as a family and kiddo and I will be touring a few things. The computer will NOT be on!! If I do get on, it’ll be ever so briefly.
So, please don’t leave me. I promise to return. I’m sure I’ll have tales of our adventures and what we do with our time. I’ll also have games to share!! So hang on….enjoy your break from me and have a cold one!!
I’m outtie for tonight!!
I know….I know, I was absent from blogging yesterday. I took on this project to make cards for landmarks and monuments all over the world. The front has a picture of each location and then the back will have brief information. I had no idea this project was going to get this big!!
The more I looked, the more I found. There’s places that I never even knew about. It seems that some tv towers are even considered a landmark or monument. I can say that I have traveled the world now!! I’ve seen so many different places, and I’m learning about some of them as I go. Tonight, I finally finished the front of the cards. I was going to do 6 pages of them, with 10 on each page. Then I increased it to 10, and then I figured that I might as well make it an even dozen. Well let me just say that that grew as well!!
I had places around the world on the cards, then I remembered that there’s so much to see in the U.S. as well. That meant I had to start researching for the best spots in America. There’s no way that I could list them all because we have so many national parks and such. What I did find definitely filled in the gaps.
So I imagine that you’re wondering what the final total was of cards that I made. Well, it didn’t stop at 12!! I got it up to 16 pages, then my wonderful daughter suggested that I could find more and make it a nice even number. So what was my nice even number that I finished with tonight?? HAHA When I was done, I had 20 pages with 10 locations each on them!! I told you that I traveled the world.
Now mind you, that’s only the images that are done. I still have to get all the information for the backs of the cards. WWEEEE!! Around the world I go again. I truly can’t wait to find out more about these places though. Some of them are so beautiful and well, some aren’t. They each mean something or have some significance though. It’s going to be an interesting ride!!
I’m going to post a new poll, so please be sure to vote. This one will have to do with travel!! I’m outtie before I miss my ride for the next trip….
P.S. I’m going to share the cards when they’re completed!!
I had the most awesome experience at my grandparents house.
I started off the morning scared, but the feeling was soon gone. We started the morning by cleaning the operating table off. Then we got to neuter 3 cats! It was so cool. I put eye drops in the cats eyes so they won’t get dry during the surgery. There was an 18 year old there who told me she has always wanted to be a vet and she’s been there since she was 13.
Then the rest of the day we did a lot of horses. We did 2 right after the 3rd cat. We did an ultrasound on both the horses and it turned out they were BOTH pregnant. Then we went to a pizza place for lunch. We kind of rushed because he had a patient coming early. We got back to the Vet and they were already there. We mainly took blood tests for the horses. Overall I say we did 17 horses. It was then almost time for me to leave when there was an emergency. The tissue from below the eye came up and over the dog’s eye. The dog looked so pitiful. Anyways it had an allergic reaction to flea medicine. So I just put the eye drop medicine on the dog’s eye and the Vet himself told the owners keep him out of sunlight until the tissue is lowered.
I asked the girl who helped me all day “What was the worst thing you have seen?” She said there was a hit and run dog that came in and they had to put it asleep, she also had a horse come in and it’s stomach was turned .
So overall I had a blast!! I’m encouraging all those kids who want to be a vet to go out there and be one because we need them in our tough times!! Have a great day!
Well our house is no longer quiet. Kiddo came home today after visiting my parents for a week. Things are back to normal. Her things are tossed about. The radio is on. Her and The Man are picking on each other. The dogs are following her around the house.
Yep, the life of the house is back where she belongs. She had such a great time with my parents. They were a bit busier than usually while she was there. And, her entire last day, she spent working with a vet and not with them. She enjoys it out there and sometimes, she’s in no rush to come home. Things are laid back in the country. She toured the tornado damage. She sat on the porch and listened to the wind in the trees. She got to work with a vet. How much better could it get??
Miss K hasn’t stopped talking about the vet. She actually worked with him. She got to help spay and neuter I don’t know how many animals. They did an ultrasound on a pregnant mare. I’m not going to give it all away though. I know she’s going to want to write about it. I just know the vet and his wife were extremely impressed with Miss K. In fact, they invited her back anytime she’s out there. They said she was extremely polite and very mature. (HEY WAIT!! Aren’t homeschool kids supposed to be basically dumb and unsocial??) They said she did whatever she was asked and thought that she’d make a great vet one day.
That’s my girl!! HEHE
Alright, I’m off. Lots to do yet before bed!!
