So kiddo and I went out yesterday and did a little shopping and took care of some errands. When we got home, there was a message on the answering machine from my Dad. I couldn’t figure out why since I’d just talked to him early in the morning. So, I call them right away to see what’s up.
Low and behold, they inform me that they’ve decided to come see us THIS weekend!! My mom has declared this a little mini-vacation. She’s determined that she’s not going anyplace or do anything the whole time that she’s here. YAY!! I’m so happy and excited. I love my parents so much and I love it when they do little things like this. It’s a different schedule than usual though because Mom has to be back to work on Monday instead of them leaving as usual on Monday. But, they’re also arriving a day earlier than usual!
I’m so looking forward to some special family time. To top it all off, we’re supposed to have a cool down and possibly get a little much needed rain. It should make for a wonderful weekend and for some enjoyable time together. Now, it’s time to plan my menu!!
What do you have going on?? Any surprises in your life??
As many of you know, I’ve been considering opening a store to sell my printables in. This isn’t an easy decision for me. I had to put a lot of thought and prayer into it. I wanted to do what’s right for my friends, followers, and readers. I also have to do what’s best for my family.
My ultimate decision is to open a store to sell my printable materials in. I’ve opened an Etsy shop, and also a shop on Teachers Notebook.
I want to assure you that I’ll continue to post freebies on my blog and Facebook. I’m not trying to get rich, but merely help add some income to my family. Giving and sharing my printables is just what comes naturally to me. It’s what I truly love to do and will continue to do.
I hope that all of you will keep following me on this blog and on Facebook. It’s also my hope that you’ll check out my stops. I’ve tried to keep my prices down, so hopefully you’ll find something that you can use. I’d also appreciate it if you’d spread the word to anyone that you know that might be looking for educational or Christian printables for home or school.
Please check out my stores and be sure to follow them so you know when I upload new products, have sales, and so on!! You’ll also be able to access the shops at any time by clicking the buttons in my right hand column.

Remember, I fully plan on keeping this blog going. I’ll be posting freebies here as often as I can. I’m not on a schedule as it is, but they’ll be posted as often as possible. One of the only changes will be that some of the freebies I post will be available for a limited amount of time, but very few of them. Also, some of my older ones will be expired so that I can move them into my shops. But please know this will only be a few of them and all the rest will continue as usual!!
Sixteen years ago today, I had the most beautiful baby girl that God could ever bless anyone with. I just can’t believe how fast time has gone. It seems like just yesterday, but no, instead its…..
You are the greatest kid and each day I’m so proud of you. I see the woman/lady that you’re becoming and I know that everything is going to be alright. You know what you want and you’re going after it….and don’t ever stop doing just that!! Keep after those dreams and remember to enjoy these days and the good times. You deserve all the best and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t thank God for him blessing my life with you and everything that comes with it!!
HAPPY SWEET 16, BEAUTIFUL “LITTLE”GIRL!!

P.S. Your teacher says that you can have the day off, so you better have some fun!!
So today was our first class back to religious education tonight. I sure did miss my kiddos, but I wish I had just one more week to RELAX!! The holidays were so hectic and we’re already back in full swing again.
Tonight’s lesson was a little late, but I feel it’s an important one for the kids to know about. Trying to do it before Christmas would have been too much and it wouldn’t have meant as much. This way, it’s just a few days late and they should have been at mass on Sunday to hear the sermon.
We did Epiphany tonight. I did my lesson and we went over key words. They enjoyed learning about magi, kings, and wisemen….and then all being the same 3 men that brought Jesus gifts. We did a Three Wise Men coloring page as our first activity after our class discussion. BTW, that same site has some other great coloring pages!!
Tonight wasn’t loaded with things, as I like to work them back into the routine. Sometimes at their young age, they can get overwhelmed. Finally, we did a craft project that I created for them. We made Epiphany Gift Boxes!! These were fun to make and the kids had fun putting them together. These have multiple uses. They could make a gift for Jesus, or a gift for the priest, or a number of other things. Actually the best part of class was listening to each one say what they were going to use their boxes for. There was things like putting cough drops in them, hiding their candy in it, making something for mom and putting it in the box to give to her…..and they went on.
I recommend that you print these on card stock. That way they’ll be nice and sturdy. Also, I made the lid to fit over the box, but my kids thought it bothered the sides of the box, so they put the lid inside. It fit well either way and I was surprised that even on the inside, they could remove it as they wanted. Directions are included with the printable.
Here’s a preview of what these printable Epiphany gift boxes look like….

As a little bonus today, I have a set of 3 Wisemen memory cards. It’s a small set, but great for a time filler, perhaps while you’re helping your kids or students assemble the gift box!! If you use this free printable, please leave a comment and let me know if you and/or the kids enjoyed it. I love seeing how my projects are used, so just include your link so I can check it out!! We have a new member in our family. Well, our holiday family, that is. Yesterday, we officially adopted Ralph Elf. He’s direct relation to all those other helpers to Santa, Elf on a Shelf.
Kiddo and I went shopping yesterday and for a couple years now, we’ve been saying we should get one. She told me she didn’t get how they could possibly work. (I just love how she plays along!!) Finally yesterday, she decided it was time. Leaving the store, I told her that she gets to name it. I jokingly said he looks like a “Ralph” and Ralph Elf was “born” and became ours!!
We went home and promptly filled out all his information and his new family name. We printed out our adoption certificate so we could keep it close by him. Miss K read the story to the dogs and they listened with great intent. I about know what they were thinking…..FINALLY, we won’t be the only spoiled naughty ones in the house!! We set Ralph on the tv cabinet with some other decorations and said that we hoped he’d be a good boy and just return there each night.
No such luck!! This is where we found Ralph Elf this morning….
Now this is a definite no-no!! That decoration is very old and delicate. But sure enough, there he is enjoying a ride on the reindeer. SHEESH The kid in the picture is pretty cute too, isn’t she!?!? It was a few years ago, but she’s still alright for a teen!! HAHA
I’ll keep you posted on our newest holiday family member. Right now, I’m just hoping that he doesn’t find too much trouble or he might get a punishment!! By the way, if you head over to the Elf on the Shelf site, they have some really fun games that we wasted a fair amount of time playing yesterday afternoon. HAHA

We were sitting outside about 5pm tonight and the heat was just incredible. It was still in the high 90’s and not a breath of air moving. I still wanted to sit in my swing since I finally have a cushion on it again and can enjoy a little time out there. As I was relaxing and talking to the man about his day, I decided it was the perfect time for a photo shoot. Right now our grass is a little long because it didn’t get mowed last weekend and this weekend isn’t here yet. Mind you, it’s not long, it’s just ready for a mow. Our neighbors on the other hand do have some long grass and weeds. This is what I decided to make my photo shoot of!!
These are the photos that I took….
Never fear, I have returned!! I’m sure that some of you didn’t even notice I was gone. I made a last minute decision to go visit my parents. My in-laws were going to ride out Hurricane Ike in Houston and we wanted to get away and this was the perfect opportunity. I couldn’t post a message because it was a surprise for my mother who had a craft sale over the weekend and just celebrated her birthday. Had I posted, it would have been the one time she would have read my blog and realized we were on our way to see her. Even dad kept the secret!! I left a couple posts that were scheduled, but never appeared, so I’ll check on that later. I’ll post those and all about our adventures this weekend!! I can’t wait to get caught up here and with you all
