Creation Story Wheel

I’ve been pretty busy lately. I’ve been uploading several resources to my store. I’ve also just been participating in life!! It’s been awhile since I’ve offered any freebies, but now’s my chance.

We’re back to religious education as of last week. It was hectic, so I really didn’t have anything to share. This week however, we’re learning about creation. This is the project that I’m working on with my little ones….

This story wheel is actually 2 wheels under one cover “wheel”. The first is to select the day of creation and the second is to identify what was created on that day. This project is perfect for learning or reviewing the days of creation.

I’be listed this for free at The Schoolhouse on TPT. If you’re interested in using this project for your class, just click to be taken to the….

I’ll post photos later of my kids making this in class. I quite often share photos on Instagram of my kids in action. If you don’t already, please click here to follow me on Instagram.

Files Available Again!!

I’m sorry that it’s taken so long, but life tends to happen!!

The new files are once again available.  There is a couple that I’m still updating, but they’ll be able to be downloaded shortly.  Almost all my religious education materials are ready to go and I’m hoping that I’ll be adding some more very soon.

God Made Me

The lesson for tomorrow is “God made me” and “I am special”.  I generally talk about Joseph and how he wasn’t only special to his dad, but how he special he was to be chosen by God and everything that he did for the people.  This year, I wanted to sway away from that.  I wanted to shift my focus to how God created us and how special we really are.  Now I normally do this, but I mean in the sense of our bodies and stuff.

The main project that I’m doing with the kiddos is this worksheet that I made.  It’s a cut and paste page!!  First we’ll do our discussion of course, then they’ll color it.  After that, we’ll go through each body part and glue them in the appropriate space on the page.  After that, we’ll go through the sheet and glue how each part helps us share God’s creation.

Here’s a thumbnail of the worksheet….

I’m really happy and excited about this worksheet.  If you are too and you’d like to use this page with your kids, please just click to….

Days of Creation

I’m just a couple of days away from my first religion class this year.  I’m pretty excited. This will be the smallest class that I’ve had since starting though.  Right now, my count is at 7 kids.  That’s a small class for me!!

Our first lesson is going to be Creation.  This is the best place to start with my little ones because the first class can be pretty hectic.  There’s usually one student that gets enrolled the day of the first class.  It’s also the time that we go over rules, folders, and all those goodies.

I’ve made something new to use this year in class for our lesson.  It’s a story wheel for the days of Creation.  It’s actually 2 wheels with the first being the day of creation and the second one being an image of that day.  The whole thing can be colored and assembled fairly easy by little ones….and big kids should enjoy it too!!  The little ones will definitely need help cutting out the viewing boxes, but depending on their skill level, they might be able to cut out the rest.

Here’s what the story wheel looks like….

I’m really happy with how this project turned out and I hope that you’ll be able to use it with your kiddos as well.  Just click to….

Sequence The Creation

This was our second week of religious education (CCD).  We’re still working on creation.  This week we did the creation of man and finished off with God resting on the 7th day.

One of the things that I used this week was this game that I made.  The kids sequence the days of creation.  I used a color version, but I also made a black & white version.  I thought it’d be fun to have the kids color the game board and the tokens to help re-enforce being able to sequence the days of creation.

Here’s a thumbnail view of some of the games…..

Clipart is from a personal source (cd set that I own) and used with permission.

If you’d like to download these games, just…..

I hope that you enjoy these games. My class sure did and they’ll make for good review continuing through the year!!
