Baptism of Jesus

Posted by on 8 October 2014

We’ve been having class for a couple of weeks now, but this is the first real craft that I’ve made for the kids.  I have to say that they loved it!!

BaptismOfJesus craft byElaine1 SAMPLE

This is a simple paper craft.  Once completed, the kids can put Jesus in the Jordan River with John the Baptist, dip him in the water, and baptize him.  This project does need adult supervision to cut the slit in the river.  There are complete directions and supply list included, along with the patterns.

If you’re interested in the paper craft, just click to….

You can find a picture of our finished project on Instagram here, here, and here.  Notice that we didn’t glue it on construction paper, which I really wanted to do.  I do recommend that you do it that way, as is given in the directions.

Clipart © Charlotte’s Clips, Dancing Crayon Designs, Graphics from the Pond, and Picture Paradise.  They are all sold on TPT and used with permission.

If you use my freebies, please leave me a comment.  I love to read your comments and input….and know how you use them.  I truly create by the feedback that I get!!

Elaine, I absolutely love this idea! After I make the clip art, which takes hours for me, I never have time to use with my own class. We just studied this lesson recently, so I am going to use your pattern.

I’m so glad that you like this project. My kids truly had fun doing it and I hope that yours do as well!! Your art is great and I’m always happy when i can use it.

I love this craft! We are learning about baptism this Sunday. I tried to download the craft but it keeps asking me for a password. Any suggestions on how I can get the craft? Thank you so much, Rebecca

    • Elaine

Rebecca, I was able to download the file with no issue. It also printed out just fine. I’m not sure why you’re getting a request for a password, as there is none needed to view/print the document. Please make sure that you have the latest version of Adobe and that you’re saving it properly and viewing/printing from the latest version of Adobe.

I hope you’re able to use this craft and that the kids enjoy it as much as mine did!!

Hello Elaine, I really like your craft and I’d love to do it with my class this Sunday, but there’s just one problem – I live in France and teach French children! I know that you don’t allow any changes to your work and I understand this, but is there any chance of making an exception for me? I only need to change the title into French. I won’t use it if I don’t get a reply from you.
    Thanks very much!

    • Elaine

      Hey there Rebecca!!

I’m fine with you changing the title to French, but I don’t know how you’d do that. The download is a PDF, and it can’t be altered. I can’t share it in any other format because of the copyright and terms on the clipart that I used for this activity. If you have a way to change just the title, that would be fine with me.

Thanks for contacting me about this!! I truly appreciate your honesty and reaching out to me before doing it.

        Hello Elaine,
Thanks so much for getting back to me – I really appreciate it! It’s great to be able to use your material – there isn’t quite enough good Sunday School material in French…yet!!! I will see what I can do and, after thought, I could just leave the English title and explain it to them – after all, this one is a fairly straightforward translation! Le baptême de Jésus…
Keep up the good work!! 🙂 🙂

        • Elaine

That is a pretty simple translation on that one!! I’m always making new stuff, so I hope that you find some of it useful.

Is there anything in particular that you want or need?? I have many more Sunday School materials for sale in my stores. I never thought of translating it before. That might be a good thing for me to get into. Maybe something that we can collaborate on?!?!

I hope your kids enjoy this craftivity!!

Thank you! Using these for our kids’ church group tonight 🙂

    • Elaine

I sure hope the kids enjoy them as much as the ones in my class did. Thank you for commenting!!

There was no craft shown. Just blank pages with the exception of the dos and don’ts and the credit. Sure did need this idea.

    • Elaine

Sarah, I clicked on the download button and it fully opened with all the pages in and I was also able to download and save it from there. All the pages were included. I’m sorry but the glitch must be on your end because the entire thing is showing at and it can be fully downloaded. I’m sorry you had an issue, but since everything on my end is working, there’s nothing else that I can do. You might want to try again and make sure that your Adobe Reader is up to date.

Can you share the password for printing this? Trying to print it from my IPhone and it has some kind of protection on it and won’t print it unless I have the password.

    • Elaine

Misty, thank you for your interest in this free download. There is no password required for it. Please make sure that you’re viewing and printing from the latest version of Adobe Reader. If not, it’s a free download.

      I hope this helps!!

This is great. Thank you for sharing. I have been looking for a craft to go with Baptism and this one is just right.
