What’s Inside the Church?

Posted by on 11 October 2013

This week, my lesson was on church.  I not only cover behavior, but things that we see in church.  I like the kids to be familiar with their environment and have some understanding of what they see and why it’s in church.  I only did one of these activities with my kids because I had a couple other good materials to use.

The first activity is a cut and paste.  This is the one that I did with my class.  There is a sheet with lots of items found in church and the same number that aren’t found in church.  The kids find 6 items that are in church and glue them to the church windows.  With all the options, my kids had several different versions because they all remember different things in church.  I think it made it really fun!!

The next activity is a worksheet for matching items to the church.  There’s several items all around the church and the kids draw a line from the items found in a church to the church and nothing is done with the other items….or you could have them cross them out.

Here’s a thumbnail view of both activities…..

My files do not require a password to open. This has been downloaded many times. Please make sure that you have the latest version of Adobe Reader (X or higher). Also, if you’re on a Mac, you have to view in Adobe Reader and not in “preview”. Adobe Reader is a free download and update. If that doesn’t work, I’m sorry, but I can’t offer any other technical assistance.
