Our Crazy Life

Posted by on 29 July 2011

I’m sure that this is something that you all can relate to right now.  Life just seems to be getting more crazy and busy as time goes on.  Just when I think that things will settle down again, something else pops right back up.  It just keeps us in a tailspin right now!!

A week ago today, Miss K finished up her “Culinary Creations” class at the vo-tech.  She loved it!!  Each day, she brought home a sampling of what they made in class that day.  I have to say that it was all good and that she learned something that day.  Her final day, she brought home a mini-cake.  I wanted to share photos, but I wasn’t able to get them uploaded.

This week, I had my first appointment for the consult for my lap band.  I had to fill out a pile of papers and then sit through a long class meeting.  Only 1 person walked out….the doctor said that usually there’s more.  It looks like the waiting list right now is up to a year and there’s only 1 doctor in the hospital that performs bariatric surgery.  They just sent 2 to other hospitals.  The highlight is that the doctor is a real cutie!!  HEHE  So four days from the class, I can start to make appointments.  I have to wait for the insurance to schedule the psych evaluation and that’ll be out of town.  Next week, I can set-up my first nutrition appointment and that’s a group session.  I have to closely follow what the dietitian says and then I get a 1 on 1 with her.  She gets to decide if I’m ready or not.  There’s no way I’m letting a dietitian hold this up!!  Then is blood work and maintaining my numbers so when the time comes, I can get the surgery done.  I plan to be ready!!

The heat is still on high here too.  It just wears you down.  I’m thirsty all the time.  It’s worse for The Man though.  He has  to get in that suit in the paint booth every day.  He’s handling it as well as he can though.  We’re just so happy that he’s been blessed with a job.

Oh yes, there’s more!!  My Mom had to go to one of those same day clinics because she was in so much pain and sick.  Then she had to make the hour trip again the next day for an ultrasound.  They think she has gall stones, but the doc has been out of the office and the nurse hasn’t even called to let her know.  One day, she couldn’t take her pain pills because she had to take Dad to Little Rock so that he could get that blood transfusion treatment in his bad knee.  He’s in pain, but seems to be doing well.  We’ll know better in a week or two how the treatment worked.  He may have to go back for a 2nd treatment, but that’s in due time.

That about sums it up for now.  I think you can see why blogging is slow for me.  It’s always the thing that I put at the back of the list when things get hectic.  I figure that’s one of the things that I can catch up on!!

So what’s your crazy life like right now??

    Crazy LIfe!!!
    That sounds like mine.
You know the Army life and my husband is off to Armor school, courses starting in January. So sometime this fall we’re headed to GA. So many details to work out for school and doctors and housing and everything. 😀

I’ll keep my fingers crossed over the dietitian’s input.

Holy cow! I’m so out of the loop! My life isn’t nearly as crazy as yours (sp). Good luck with the lap band business. I know many people who have had it done. Was fun to see what you all are up to. Now on to the timeline search.
