I know it’s been forever since I posted a crockpot recipe. However, I made something Wednesday night that was to die for!! In the crockpot, I had Chicken in Sour Cream Sauce. This recipe originally came from More Slow Cooker Classics by Taste of Home. However, I had to tweak it my way.
And, here it is (loaded up with mushrooms)….
Here’s MY version of the recipe….
1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika 1/4 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning
4 boneless chicken breasts 1 cup (8 0z.) sour cream
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
parsley, lemon-pepper seasoning, and paprika to taste
1/2 cup chicken broth 2 cans (small) mushroom pieces
In a small bowl, combine the first 4 ingredient; rub over chicken. Place in crockpot. In a large bowl combine the soup, sour cream, chicken broth, and seasonings; stir in mushrooms. Pour over chicken.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Cook rice or egg noodles (what I used) on the stove. Place rice or noodles on plate and over with chicken and sauce.
I promise you that you won’t be disappointed with this one!! The chicken is so tender and loaded with flavor. I chose to season the mixture with the same seasonings as the chicken to carry the flavor through the dish, but it didn’t take much seasoning at all. I hope that you and your family enjoy this as much as we did!!
