Angels and Guardian Angels

Posted by on 19 January 2011

Last week, my CCD lesson was angels and guardian angels.  I was disappointed because of all the many (and I mean MANY) workbooks and such that I have, there’s not much on angels.  My online search proved to find much of the same.  I thought for those of you perhaps doing a lesson on angels or needing materials might find some of what I found useful.

First, my class is starting to learn the “Guardian Angel Prayer”.  I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted, so I created a writing practice worksheet for them to do as homework.  I found a couple of amazing coloring pages here and here.  They both came from Catholic Parenting.  I placed these coloring pages on the side for the kids to color and the prayer along the other side for them to copy.  I find that even as little as they are, they memorize it quite well with printing practice!!  You can find my “Guardian Angel Prayer” copywork/printing practice by clicking the button….

In my search, I found some other good materials that I’d like to share with you.  At this site, you’ll find some really good angel printables including an angel shape book.  There’s a Jesus Loves Me and You angel coloring and writing practice sheets.  I found these fantastic coloring pages for the archangels at Waltzing Matilda.  In case you’re in need of coloring pages, take a look around her blog because she has lots of good ones!!  To go along with those archangels, there is one here with all 3 of them for their feast day.

Back at Waltzing Matilda, she has a great angel mobile craft.  For the littles, you’ll find coloring pages, crafts, and lessons.  If you browse DLTK, you’ll find “angels of the Bible”, along with other angel crafts and activities.  One can even get printable angel wings for paper dolls.

There are even angel cards and award certificatesCatholicMom.com has an Angel of God bookmark.  I don’t visit the site that often any more because well, I just don’t enjoy the format of it and I find it hard to navigate.  However, if you take the time, you’ll find more angel items and lots of great things on items that you might be working on!!  I found this Bible study worksheet on angels.

Now there’s a lot more angel printables out there.  Many of them are Christmas related, which really is a whole other topic.  There are just a few of my favorite things that I found, or things that I knew I could use now or in the future.  Hopefully you’ll find something to suit your needs among these links and ideas.

If you enjoy my blog, use my printables, or just stopped by, I’d appreciate it if you’d leave a comment.  If you’d rather, you can just vote for my blog by clicking one or all of the buttons in the right column under “Rate My Blog”.  I really appreciate anyone that does that because that’s what I use to know if my blog, posts, printables, and so on are being viewed and used!!
