Not Adapting

Posted by on 23 September 2009

There’s so many days that I do so well without having my car.  But this WEEK, I’m not doing fantastic not well at all.  I have really busy weeks ever so often and they usually don’t affect me.  I just move on until things begin to settle down and the routine comes back.  I wish I could say I was taking this week that easily.

My parents will be here tomorrow and I’ll be gone when they arrive.  I’m sure I’ll find them exhausted in their car when I get home.  The day will start at 6:30am when The Man wakes me up to take him to work.  I’m not sure when I’m going to Wal-Mart, but I have a few things for the party and tomorrow night’s dinner to pick up there.  By noon, I have to meet the ladies that I volunteer with for the luncheon.  I’ll have to leave that early in order to get Miss K to her photography class.  By the time that’s over, I have to go strait on post and pick hubby up from work.

PLEASE don’t let me forget to start the crockpot tomorrow morning!!  I at least made that much easy on myself.  We’re having bbq pulled pork in the crockpot for dinner.  Simple sandwiches I can throw together and they’re delish!!  That only happens if I pick up the buns and chips at the store though!!

No, this week I’m not adapting at all to not having a car.  I feel like my hands are tied and The Man just feels bad that I have to go through this.  It’s not his fault and I try not to mention it to him because I know he feels responsible.  It was just that poor ole Dodge’s time to rest.  I know it’s all going to work out, but PHEW!!

Did I mention that during all of this, we’re actually pretty much keeping up with our lessons every day??  Yep, math and English are right on track, while science and social studies are lagging a bit.  Not bad considering!!  Spelling test tomorrow in between all the running.  Friday is a day off, we’ll call it an “in-service day”!!  HAHA  Still 2 tests to take….math and English.  Not a bad day though all in all for the student!!

Alright, I’m off to see if I can cross at least ONE more thing off my “to do” list before going to bed tonight.  I’m outtie….

I haven’t had my car since June so I can relate. If I want the car sometime during the day I have to drive hubby to work and pick him up later. How I hate base traffic! UGH!

Good luck with your party. I know it will go well. :)

I’m not thrilled with morning traffic either. All the guys are leaving from PT when I drop him off and it’s backed up forever!! On top of that, they’re all IDIOTS!! Off post, the buses are starting to mess with traffic. ARG

    Hiya!

I’m taking the time to finally stop by and read a bit. Sounds like you are in a pickle. I’ll have to read back more to see what’s going on.

The pulled pork sounds heavenly right now. My tummy is hungry!

Just a little bit of a pickle. And the pulled pork is delish!! I love the leftovers just as much as the initial meal. LOL
