I’m going to start with a file folder game/mat that I made today. I don’t know why, but I’m really proud of this one. This ffg/mat is for CVC words, that is constanant-vowel-constanant. It’s called “Baited Words” has 2 game board/mats for 2 different versions of the game. There’s also a separate set of directions for each version. For one version, the player matches bobbers (CVC objects) to the CVC word. In the other version, the player gets a bobber (CVC object) and spells the word out using letter hooks. It’s fun, cute and kid friendly using a fishing kid’s theme.
Lean Green surprised me with flowers tonight. Yes, flowers!! I couldn’t believe it. He said he just had to stop for a minute on the way home and pick them up for me. This is highly unusual because I’m not much of a flower person at all. He made sure to get just the right pretty spring bunch though….complete with a pink carnation!! I’ll post pictures of it tomorrow.
On the subject of The Man, someone finally came to check out the damage to his car from that fender bender he had a couple weeks back. He has 2 options. He can either take it someplace to have it fixed, or he can find a bumper on his own and pocket the left over money. We’ll know exactly what we’re looking at as soon as the appraisal comes in and there’s no telling how long that’ll take.
Mr. Turtle is doing great. That critter LOVES strawberries!! He gobbled up some boiled egg (with shell) tonight. So far all the research I’ve done has paid off. He eats everything they said he would. We haven’t tried meat yet. I’m sure that’ll come this weekend. Oh, and as much as he loves strawberries….he HATES celery!! HAHA We’ve let him run around the house once, but that drove the dogs nuts, so we took him outside this evening. He didn’t seem to like the grass much at all. We moved him to the walkway, then he took off. When it was his idea to be in the grass, he was good with it. And let me tell you, that turtle can move!! HAHA
I’m going to end with another item to share. This one is “Memorial Day Say & Write 3rd Grade Dolch Sight Words”. Print them out, laminate and let them write the words on the flashcards in cursive. Otherwise, just simply use them as flashcards to help learn the 3rd grade Dolch Sight Words. If I must say so myself, these sure are pretty!!
I’m going to try to create something each day this weekend for Memorial Day. I don’t know if that’s possible, but I’m sure going to put some effort into it!! On that note, I’m outtie!!
