Weather

Posted by on 13 May 2009

We actually didn’t have any rain yesterday or today.  The only problem is that now that the sun is out, it’s too humid to breath.  Humidity isn’t common here.  When it is, it’s just miserable.  Many people that live here think it’s humid, but I just laugh in at them.  I tell them that they’ve obviously never lived in Houston or Savannah.  If they had, they’d know what humid was.  PLEASE!!  What we get here is NOT humidity!!  HAHA

We were so far behind on rain, that it’s hard to complain about all the rain we’ve gotten.  It just gets old being so gloomy.  Mom and Dad haven’t had much peace in weather since the tornado hit their town last month.  Dad had a long drive home in the rain on Tuesday.  They’re still getting it too.  When I talked to Mom tonight, they have storm warnings all night long.  I heard Dad in the background saying that they’ll probably be woke up in the middle of the night.

So what’s the weather like in your neck of the woods??

UPDATE:

We just had a storm roll through.  It was bad all around us much of the night.  I heard loud thumps in the roof, so I went to the front door and looked out.  I ran to wake up K and The Man.  We were in the middle of a hail storm.  Not just hail, but BIG hail!!  We had full golfball sized hail coming down for quite awhile.  When it passed, we went out to get a couple pieces of it.  We put them in the freezer and I’ll try to remember to take pictures in the morning.  My car was in the garage and it looks like luckily there’s no damage to hubby’s car.  We’ll check more closely in the daylight.  GOLFBALLS in the middle of the night!!  SHEESH

It has been nice and warm here too with temps in the eighties. We are expecting to reach 100 by Sunday. Our air is hot and dry and that makes breathing difficult for me. I get bloody noses easily and am constantly sneezing. I miss the moist humid air from back home in the midwest during the summer time. The humidity seemed to make it easier for me to breathe than this awful dry air here in California.

We’ve just had miserable spring rain. But the past two days have been beautiful. Low 80’s and the sun shining through.
