I can’t believe it’s the beginning of yet another month.  It feels like January and the new year just started, but here we are starting February.

February is supposed to be the month of love.  I don’t know about that!!  I’ve never been all that impressed with Valentine’s Day.  I know all about the spirit of St. Valentine, but I think it’s just another day for stores, especially candy and flower shops, to make money.  I don’t particularly like either of those things either!!  Flowers die and candy is horrible for me.  I’d rather have a plant that I can grow and nurture and it lasts longer too.

Since I’m not impressed with February, here’s some useless trivia about it:

February is the second month, and has 28 days, except on Leap Years when it has 29 (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012). Named after the Roman god Februus.  The big holidays held in February are Groundhog’s day (2nd), St. Valentine’s Day (14th) and President’s day (3rd Monday). There were orginially four holidays, but they merged George Washington’s and Abraham Lincoln’s birthdays together for for one presidential holiday.   February is also Black History Month, often used to celebrate the accomplishments of George Washington Carver and Martin Luther King, Jr.

So, are you impressed with February??  What’s your favorite part about this month??

Yea, your right. It’s not a very cool month at all!
I was never into Groundhog Day.

One good thing about February…My K was born that month. 🙂

Where are all these posts coming from? Have I been oblivious the past few days?
