President-elect Barack Obama

Posted by on 5 November 2008

I’m quite sure that I’ll never get used to that.  However, it appears the people have spoken.  They spoke in record numbers and that alone is a great thing.  I know the expectations are high.  I for one will say that he had better accomplish something for the American people within his first year.  He promised it, he has a Democratic Congress and he has no excuses.  Now we’ll just have to see how much those people that fill his deep pockets have control over him.  That’ll be the deciding factor.  He’ll either protect them or do what he promised he could do.

I did notice watching the election night coverage that many networks were calling states that were too close to say.  I also saw that several states were called within 15 minutes of the polls being counted.  I’m not quite sure how that works, but it happens.  Election night is crazy!!  We sat watching every minute of it and kiddo colored in her electoral college worksheet.

I must say that John McCain gave one of the best speeches I’ve heard.  He was totally classy and true McCain right to the end.  I have the utmost respect for him and the way he handled his campaign and even losing the election.  He walked away a true gentleman of this country.  On the other hand, I thought Barack Obama’s speech was just typical for him.  He didn’t say anything new or refreshing.  He didn’t say anything that would have made me wish that I’d voted for him.  It wasn’t a bad speech, but it was just typical Obama.  Michelle’s dress was horrid!!  I definitely expected more from her in the fashion area.  PHEW!!

So now, we’re on a new path in our government.  All we can all do is wait to see what happens.  It will require everyone to keep the hope and to pray.  Somehow, this is God’s will and he has a plan.  What it is, we’ll all find out soon enough!!

Now, let's see some CHANGE!!

Now, let's see some CHANGE!!

As you said…we will survive. We are a strong country that just needs to get back on track! I do agree that McCain made a great speech at the end.

I’m sick, sick, sick. I will give him this…he is an excellent public speaker. So was Bill Clinton………. But the man inspires no trust in me. You’re right. He’ll have to throw us at least one bone immediately. Otherwise, I don’t think we’ll see the “real” Obama until (or unless) he is re-elected to another term. **shiver**

Only in America can an unknown, inexperienced politician become president. Only in America. LOL

I hope we can find our track, Tammy. We’ll survive, but I wonder at what cost. UGH!!

You’re so right, Debbie. They’re great speakers. However, that’s all they are. Billy boy is still doing it. He still has people convinced he did good. And now, we have this!! UGH If you get time, go to Google and type in his name. Then pull up some of his “older material”. He’s had money pushing him for years and despite what he says, this was his ultimate goal. You just have to dig, which the American people didn’t do!!

Amen, Amen, and Amen. I second everything you all have said. I’m a black woman and even I didn’t vote for the man myself. I know that as a believer I still gonna respect the office of president and pray for him. Will be doing losts of that because the man needs a change of heart on many issues.

Tajuana, thank you for your comments. It was never about race for me. I want the person who’s going to best run this country. I can’t walk away from who I am or what I believe in.

Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you come back soon.
