PhotoStory Friday

 Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

On Sunday, I shared the story of Miss K donating her hair to Locks of Love.  It was her gift of love.  Now, here for PhotoStory Friday is that photos from that event.

The hair brushed long and strait

The ponytail ready to be cut

Momma makes the first cut...with tears in her eyes

Ang cutting and shaping the new hair

The final "bob"

Happy and proud

In all, the ponytail she donated was 12″ long and with cutting and shaping, the cut ended up taking a total of 14″ off.

Yea me! I am the only one up this late (early) on Friday to make a comment. What a sweet story. I am so glad you shared these beautiful pictures with us. I am sure she will be so proud of this story.

  2. Elaine

She knows that I shared her story for the “Blogging for Blood Cancer”, but she doesn’t know I was going to put this together. I hope she’s as proud when she sees it as I am of her. Of course, it was months ago, but I’m still impressed that at her age, she made the decision on her own.

Tammy, you and I are night owl buddies!! HUGS!!

  3. Neutral Dwelling

What a beautiful daughter, inside and out! Love the new do!

  4. Laura

    Great kid and great haircut!!!

I whacked off my hair a couple of months ago, but since I’m an old fart it was too damaged to donate to Locks of Love. 🙁

  5. Priyanka

Wonderful thought!! And the new hair suits her really well.

  6. Alisha @ Izzy N' Emmy

Wow, what a brave girl! She has beautiful hair, long or short! Thanks for sharing!

  7. JennWasHere

I think that’s a noble thing to do. Some would have qualms cutting their hair off, and what a courageous little girl she is! She looks good with the new ‘do, by the way.

    My PSF is HERE.

  8. Dawn

Her hair is very pretty.. so shiny! Her new look is adorable.

My daughter wanted to do this once. But, her hair lacked about 1 inch from being long enough to do it. She was disappointed.

You’re going to love the short hair. I like the fact it doesn’t take long to fix.

I hope she loves what you’ve done on here. She should be very proud. 🙂

  9. Tiaras & Tantrums

wow – she’s brave – that’s a lot of hari to lose? Does she regret it?

  10. Debbie

She looks great !! Short is so much easier to manage !! That one great kid you got there !!

  11. Debbie

Sniff! She looks so mature now! Sniff, sniff!!

She looks great and I’m sure she’s very proud!

    wow… now that’s a big change…
However in that age having that sort of dedication to make another child happy. Hat’s off to that one.
Truly one amazing girl you have there.

Neutral, Alisha, Susan and Lois: we’re very proud of her. I just felt this was the time to share what she did. Thank you so much for your comments. She’ll be reading them all tomorrow.

Laura, Dawn, Tiaras, Debbie and Debbie: It was absolutely a HUGE step for her. She’d never had more than a trim and always wore it down. Now that it’s cut, she absolutely loves it. She’s kept it short since that time, however, it did grow this summer. It was so long again when we went back in, that our beautician asked if she just wanted to wait and donate it again. She said no, but she might when it’s cooler outside. Her daddy and I love the way it looks and frames that cute face!!

Peter, Elaine and golightly: We’re proud of her and we can’t believe what a decision she made on her own. At times, I’ve wondered who got her hair and how it looked and if they felt the way she did when she had it. She’s a blessed child and we couldn’t ask for more!!

Jenn and Priyanka: Thank you for your comments. I’ll be by to check out your blogs!!

We’re very proud of her. We love the new look too. You can see her precious face so much better and goodness knows it’s better in this heat.

Great! Cute hair cut! Last Saturday, I cut my daughter’s hair about 11 1/2 inches to donate to Locks of Love.

  22. Elaine

    Thank you Carrie!!

Good for your daughter!! It’s so fantastic when these little ones can give of themselves like that. You all should be proud!!

  23. Deb - Mom of 3 Girls

What a drastic cute – but she looks so cute with the new ‘do! And what an amazing thing to do – to donate her hair. You have a very special girl there! 🙂

  24. Elaine
