Days 3-5: China and Ancient Olympics

Posted by on 8 August 2008

I have to confess, we haven’t worked very hard on this.  Ed has been here the past 2 days and no matter what I did, it was very distracting.  However, we did do some studies on China and just touched on the Ancient Olympics.

K took a spelling test that covered random words from the Olympics.  She got 2 wrong, which is a “B”.  I was actually quite impressed.  The words misspelled were competitor (added an extra “i” before the “or”) and synchronized (left out the “h”).  Yep, not bad at all!!

Tomorrow, the man in uniform has duty.  That’s a 24 hour shift, except in this job, it’s more like 36 hours.  At least close to it!!

We’re going to take the weekend to work on an Olympic lapbook.  Miss K is really really excited about this.  This will be a first for us and we can’t wait to see how it turns out.  I used the free one I listed on an earlier post.  Then I, of course, had to add some stuff of my own to it.  We’re going to be cutting, coloring, glueing and arranging all weekend to assemble it.  It seems like such a fun project.  K says she wants to get started right away!!  I can’t think of a better way to review!!

If we get it completed, I’ll post some pics.  Maybe some of you will be interested in it!!
