My Button….I Made It!!

Posted by on 27 July 2008

My Button

I did it!!  I was playing around and I created my own button.  I visit all these other blogs and sites that you can link to or join or whatever.  I decided it’d be pretty cool to create my own button for the same thing.  It’s not like anyone is going to use it, but it’s fun!!

If you know me and enjoy my blog, please consider adding my button to your sidebar or someplace on your page.  You know I’d truly appreciate it!! It’ll look just like the button above.   Just copy and paste this code:

<a href=”http://www.armyfamilyok.wordpress.com” target=”_blank”><img src=”http://armyfamilyok.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/commotionoceanlife.jpg” border=”0” alt=”” width=”150” height=”150” /></a>

Leave a comment if you like my button or if you’d like me to try to create one for you!!

Oh, and maybe I’ll even learn how everyone does those little code boxes too!!

    Oooooooooooooooooo perty!

If ya make one for me I’ll clean up after your doggy. I’ve had loads of practice. LOL!

  2. Laura

I’m trying to figure how to add it to my sidebar. Any suggestions?

  3. Laura

Okay, I figured how to put it on my sidebar. I made it bigger so you could read your blog title. LOL!

  4. Laura

I did one for D too and put it on my blog. LOL!

  5. Vineet Kumar

    Good one :)

  6. Elaine

Oh, I’ll make one for you Laura, and you won’t even have to pick up poo!! LOL

I thought it needed to be a little bigger, but I didn’t want it to be too big either. It’s easier to go up than to have it too large to fit!!

That’s the image I was going to use to make one for Debbie!! LOL I was going to remove the shirt though. Too funny!!

  7. Elaine

    Thank you, Vineet!!

It’s my first attempt. I was playing around and it turned out to be worth it!!

What’s this? And code boxes? Why does there have to be so many new things to learn? Warning, warning! Brain overload! LOL

I have no idea how to put this on my page, but I’ll figure it out sooner or later. Congrats on figuring out how to do it! I think you should set up techy shop!

Debbie: I’m making one for you so that Laura and I and your other friends can add them to the blogs. I’m also going to make one for Laura. Actually, Laura did one for you, but she used the t-shirt….I was going to simplify it a bit, if I can.

As for adding it to your blog, I’m not sure. For me, it goes in my “widgets” on the sidebar. It has to be text format. Laura should be able to help too!!

Good for you! It is fun isn’t it? Some of my best afternoons have been spent playing on Photoshop! lol I’ve taught myself just enough to really have a blast with it.

Thanks for commenting on my homeschooling blog the other day! Hope I’ll see you again!

It was a blast, Wendy!! I plan on making more. Since I use WordPress, I’ve had to teach myself alot about these codes. I’m hoping by doing this that I’ll be able to add a few more goodies to my blog and perhaps help others too.

I enjoyed your blog and plan to visit again. I even added you button to my page. I do hope you’ll return again as well. Thanks!!

  12. Dawn

I’m going to add your button to my blog! :)

I’d like one as well but have NO idea what to put on it…well, besides the name of my blog!

I think I said I found you at mom bloggers. I meant to say at 5minutesformom!! Sorry for the confusion!

I tried to add the button and I couldn’t get it to show up?!?! I went to the add html on my layout. Isn’t that where it would go?? Ugh!

Dawn, I’m really happy you’re going to add my button. It has a few glitches in it. The main issue is that it puts 2 quotation ( ” ) marks around each area of the code. If you clean it up so that there’s just one set of quotation marks, it should work. I’m sorry it’s not working….I’m new to this. If trying to remove the quotation marks doesn’t work, you could write the code down on a piece of paper and then type it into your HTML area of your blog where you’re going to put the button.

I hope that helps!! If not, let me go and I’ll definitely work on it.

P.S. If you decide what you want on the button, I’d be happy to make one for you.

  15. Dawn

Thanks for your info. I will go and try to rework it so it will show up on my blog! :)

  16. Dawn

Yay! I got it to work!

  17. Elaine

YAY!! I’m so excited Dawn!! I went over and saw it on your page. Thanks!!

Now, I have to get caught up on your blog since I was out of the loop a couple days.
